My mom is planning of coming here in September. So, I am looking for a good airfare deal. Hopefully, I can find one because it is still a few months. But I am sure not to get her a Southwest airline. I think it is scary to fly with them. Anyway, this month is our fiesta celebration in my hometown. Also, there is a celebration in Canada for that same patron, the Blessed Trinity. Some of the Talibonian from here are going. It would have been nice to go there but not right now. Some other time.

It is a nice feeling to have kids. Even though sometimes it's tough to be a mother. Teaching, caring discipline and loving them is the most vital part in their life. Learning values and skills as they grow is important for them to learn new things and values in life. But I believe that in everything they learn it should start at home and giving them discipline is a part of learning what is right and wrong.

Planning of having a vacation.

I just finish talking with my mom and she told me that she and my relative are planning on going to Australia this November. I hope I could go with them. And of course my kids and hubby if he wants to. My mom can take care of Maddie and me for Jarod with the trip. So, it would be fine I guess. Just like traveling to the Philippines. Besides we have a relative in Australia that will pick us up in the airport and tour us around Sydney. Hopefully, we can go if we have extra money to spend. So, save starting now.

Maddie and Rachel had fun today. They likes to play and watch Barney. Though Maddie woke up early than usual she was not cranky. She likes to have a playmate and it's the first time she play with Rachel. They really had a good time. After, Maddie also had a good afternoon nap and a good shower that after she got hungry and ate more than she usually eat. Good job baby Maddie. Hope you will have a playmate again.

Getting sick.

We went to the mall today and just strolling around Southwest Mall. Then, we saw Cingular store. We had plan of upgrading our phone service and so we went in. When we we're inside the person who works there kept on sneezing and coughing. And I said OMG. I am scared that Maddie is going to get sick again. It is really hard when baby get sick. Anyway, the best thing to do is to just stay at home and be bored.

There was a middle-aged couple that had two stunningly beautiful teen-aged daughters. They decided to try one last time for the son they always wanted. After months of trying, the wife became pregnant and sure enough, nine months later delivered a healthy baby boy. The joyful father rushed to the nursery to see his new son. He took one look and was horrified to see the ugliest child he had ever seen. He went to his wife and said that there was no way that he could be the father of that child. "Look at the two beautiful daughters I fathered." Then he gave her a stern look and asked, "Have you been fooling around on me?" The wife smiled sweetly and said, "Not this time".

Yipe, my mom is arriving today after more than a month in the Philippines. She spent Christmas and New Year with my family and now she is coming back. I am looking forward of the dried fish that she brought for me. Hopefully, she will mail it to me as soon as she can.

Strolling in Manhattan Beach, CA.

This afternoon being not so cold here in Gardena, California hubby and I decided to stroll in Manhattan Beach. Maddie had a good time walking in the beach sand. There's a lot of people here walking, jogging, biking and playing volleyball. It's nice to be back here. It's been a while since I went to the beach. Before, when I used to live here in California I used to visit the beach more often. Now, I'm remembering it. It's nice to be back here.

Maddie, hubby, me and my family are just relaxing at home. It is raining outside and so we can't do much or go out. We wanted to go to Sagbayan Peak to see some well-formed hills like the famous chocolate hills here in Bohol, Philippines. Hopefully, it's not going to rain tomorrow for us to be able to go out and see some beautiful spot.

Blonde got game

A blonde and a lawyer are seated next to each other on a flight from LA to NY.
The lawyer asks the blonde if she would like to play a fun game.
The blonde, who is tired, politely declines and rolls over to the window to catch a few winks.
The lawyer persists and explains that the game is easy and a lot of fun.
He explains, "I ask you a question, and if you don't know the answer, you pay me $5.00, and vise versa."
Again, she declines and tries to get some sleep.
The lawyer, now agitated, says, "Okay, if you don't know the answer you pay me $5.00, and if I don't know the answer, I will pay you $500.00."
This catches the blonde's attention and, figuring there will be no end to this torment unless she plays, agrees to the game.
The lawyer asks the first question. "What's the distance from the earth to the moon?"
The blonde doesn't say a word, reaches into her purse, pulls out a $5.00 bill and hands it to the lawyer.
"Okay, " the lawyer continues. "Your turn."
She asks the lawyer, "What goes up a hill with three legs and comes down with four legs?"
The lawyer, puzzled, takes out his laptop computer and searches all his references but he can't find an answer.
He taps into the air phone with his modem and searches the net and the Library of Congress, but he still has no answer.
Frustrated, he e-mails all his friends and coworkers, which turns out to be to no avail.
After an hour, he wakes the blonde, and hands her $500.00.
The blonde says, "Thank you," and turns back to get some more sleep.
The lawyer, who is more than a little miffed, wakes the blonde and asks, "Well, what's the answer?"
Without a word, the blonde reaches into her purse, hands the lawyer $5.00, and goes back to sleep.

Maddie loves stuff toys.

I remember when Maddie was still 6 months. She is scared of stuff toys and cried whenever we give her one or she is near with it. But right now, she loves them. We went to Target today and she saw a big stuff toys and she is letting us know that she want it. She keep pointing at them and mumble some words that she only know. Anyway, hubby didn't get it because she already has some at home. Poor little Maddie. Maybe next time.

Sleeping early.

I have noticed that recently Maddie started to sleep early than usual. It's good but I kind of wonder. Well, maybe that one of the changes in her first year of life. Now, she is already sleeping and I was able to update my blog. Though, I don't leave her whatever I do. I am always near her. Just like now, I am here sitting beside her. We never leave her sleeping alone because when she wake up and know that no one is there. She cry and climb out of bed looking for us.

Maddie likes to walk.

Maddie's new hobby is walking. She likes to walk a lot. When we are in the store we let her walk and she gets so happy and excited. She doens't like being held and she goes wherever she wants. The bad thing if you are in a hurry is that you are not going to reach your destination. She will stop every corner and pick up and stop wherever she sees dir in the floor. She can't resist things in the floor. Anyway, we are so happy that she can walk now.

Today, Elizabeth visited us around lunch. I cooked some mussels with chili and longaniza. I wanted to cook some bittermelon but it was bad already. Anyway, after lunch we went to the bank and then to Costco. She bought a lot of house stuff. Maddie was happy seeing Elizabeth and she behaved a lot today. She was very playful and smiling a lot. She also likes the gift that Elizabeth gave her. After shopping Maddie got a very long nap. It was a fun day for Maddie and me.

It's Maddies 2nd halloween but the first ne she was only a few days old. Now, she just turn one but still not understanding what Halloween is all about. In fact she is afraid of all the costumes that kids wear. Maybe next year she will have a better understading of what it is all about and can enjoy doing trick and treat. Though, chocolates are not good for her but the fun is. Let's see next halloween.

A new activity jet.

Hubby and I bought our little girl a new 100acre Pooh activity jet from Costco. We we're just doing our shopping and I saw this very nice toy. When we got home she can't wait but play with it. She press all the bottons and whenever the propeller makes sound she is running away from it. Anyway, the next day she was not scared of it anymore that right now she would climb over it and ride pressing all the buttons. The negative thing about this toy is that it consumes a lot of power and so if you buy it you need a lot of extra batteries. Overall, it's a ver nice toy. Maddie is learning squares, stars,circle in this toy also.

Flu shot appointment.

Got a call from the Allergy department of Kaiser that Maddie's flu shot appointment is going to be this coming October 20. Hopefully, she will not react to that shot knowing that she has egg allergy and this shot contains egg protein. That is why this shot is done here in the allergy clinic to test first and if she does then they have to give it slowly.

One year well baby check up.

Yepey, Maddie is almost one year and it's time once again for her immunization visit. Bad thing is now she will have her 4 shots of immunization. Poor baby she will have to cry again. Because of this doctors visits and shots she now have fear with doctors and hospital visits. I don't blame her. For this past week it's really tough for her. Those poking on several occassion is not that good. Anyway, it's going to be next month. Hope everything will be fine.

Went to Children's Hospital.

Maddie's pediatrian referred us to the GI specialist in the Children's Hospital because of her abnormal lab work. We went their and saw her specialist who recommended us to change our current formula to thie Elecare hypoallergenic formula. It's an amino acid based type of formula because of the allergy that she develop with her milk. She gave us two small cans of Elecare to use while we waited for our order. Good thing because they don't sell it here they have to order it also.

Being a mom is the most unforgettable experienced in my life. Caring for the most precious little angel is the best thing that ever happen to me. She is the love of our life and we do everything with her. Hubby and I don't do things that she is not included. Wherever we are she is always there because she is the most important person. We want her to be happy and healthy. Being a mom the only thing I can give her is my love and I will always be there for my baby whenver she needed me.

I left Maddie in her playpen and the next thing I see was that she let go of holding onto the railing and walk two steps. Wow, she is about to walk pretty soon. She is not afraid letting go in her playpen because she knows that it doesn't hurt when she fall. Not like the crib she always take caution before doing things. Experience learned. Goodluck baby Maddie.

We went to the park this afternoon and took some photos of Maddie. She had a good time playing in the grass and looking at kids playing in the swing. We also took ker pony toy which my mom gave her last Christmas. She can ride in it without falling. What a nice day it was today. Hope we keep doing this daddy because Maddie love it.

We went to Southwest Mall today with Maddie and she likes it. It's her favorite past time. Shopping, strolling, looking at the lights and people is what Maddie likes to do. Whenever she is bored at home we always take her to the mall to walk. She also likes to go see the pet store. I wonder what she want later when she grow up. I think she is going to be an outdoor person and loves shopping. Watch out daddy.

I sent some of Maddie's picture today to my mom and she is looking forward to receiving them. My aunt also wants to see her pictures. She even put Maddie's picture in the closet of the garage so that whenever she arrived from work she can look at her and talk to her. That's how crazy my aunt is. Anyway, hope they will like what I send them.

Maddie at 5 months in her new Chicco walker. Daddy ordered it on-line and Maddie likes it. It's a little bit bigger for her at this picture time but right now it fits her perfectly. It has three adjustments and so she can use it for a while. We already adjusted it once. With this walker she can be everywhere in the house. She comes by see me when I'm in the kitchen but safety comes first. Way to go Maddie.
